In order to continue to provide an excellence of service to our clients, it is essential that we train and maintain our staff at all levels. Therefore we provide a structured training programme, which is fully funded to enhance skills and knowledge levels throughout the firm. Staff are given time for study leave and are financially rewarded when they achieve their goals.
There are three levels of training offered by the majority of accountancy firms: CAT, ACCA and ACA.
Here at BDO, graduates who have achieved good grades in both English and Mathematics at GSCE level and similar grades at A level in non-specific subjects may be offered the chance to train for the ACA or ACCA qualification.
Students will also need to be self-motivated, committed to their chosen career, pay attention to detail and show initiative.
The BDO Graduate Bursary Scheme is offered in the form of a generous interest free loan for each year of university attendance. Upon completion of a student’s chosen university degree course the loan will be waived, contingent upon them joining the company for a minimum of three years under a standard training contract. Employment and training during university holidays is also generally available for students in the scheme.
In addition to student training, we are also committed to providing continuing professional education for all of our staff in order to provide them with an on-going career development path and to help them stay up to date with current best practice and technical requirements.
