Auditing and Accounts Preparation form the largest part of our business where we focus on servicing the statutory reporting and compliance needs of local businesses. The majority of our clients are medium to large businesses (many of them family owned) based or administered predominately within the Bailiwick and in Jersey. With in excess of 100 years’ experience in local industry and finance sector businesses shared amongst the Directors, we are able to provide the advice and assistance that our clients need.
It is our philosophy to commit to long-term relationships with our clients. This is achieved by spending time understanding our clients’ businesses and functions with a high focus on close Director involvement in client engagements. This enables us to identify potential areas of concern, both internal and external, beyond the usual audit framework, as well as highlight opportunities for our clients to achieve savings and increased efficiencies.
Our membership of BDO International, one of the largest accounting networks in the world provides us with a truly worldwide network of accountancy practices to call on for assistance or specialist advice. As the emphasis in business moves more and more to a worldwide economy, we are perfectly placed to assist our clients in developing and expanding worldwide, whether they wish to establish a branch, agency or subsidiary overseas, or are seeking information on a potential supplier or customer abroad.
Arising from audit and accounts engagements, we offer a one-stop approach to compliance, tax and secretarial services, all of which are undertaken by senior staff, who have a wealth of knowledge which can be quickly and efficiently applied to each client’s specific circumstances.
Due to our close involvement with clients we are very often requested to provide other assurance services. This may involve dealing with regulatory authorities, such as the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, assisting in compliance with statutory company secretarial issues, and certain aspects of corporate finance, such as due diligence and transaction support.
BDO also provides corporate finance advice to our clients at various stages of their business growth and development. This might include advice on raising capital via debt or equity, growth by acquisition or merger, arranging management buy-outs or buy-ins, through to succession planning and the eventual sale of the business.
