BDO Guernsey launches training to enhance financial literacy

10 February 2021

BDO Guernsey has become an accredited facilitator of the Colour Accounting learning framework which helps senior business leaders, board members and management teams to master their financial know-how.

Colour Accounting is a unique interactive and energetic training framework used around the world that applies real-life examples and a breakthrough graphical system to help workshop delegates get to grips with complex financial concepts.

The accountancy and business advisory firm is the exclusive provider of the learning model in the Channel Islands. Managing director, Richard Searle, Head of BDODrive services, Carl Gardner and Audit Director, Matthew Budd, are all Colour Accounting Accredited Facilitators.

By increasing financial literacy, Colour Accounting workshop participants gain increased confidence in their understanding of the financial fundamentals of their organisation which is particularly vital against the backdrop of the challenging economic environment caused by COVID-19.

Richard Searle, BDO Guernsey’s Managing Director, explained: “The world is facing an increasingly challenging economic context so financial literacy is more important than ever,” he said.

“This training programme makes financial knowledge accessible to a wide variety of personnel in the profit and non-for-profit sectors alike who need to have a strong grasp of their economic reality and where to focus.”

BDO Guernsey is offering the training as one-day open workshops that can be held on-line and, when circumstances permit in person. Bespoke workshops are also available which are tailored to the circumstances of particular organisations.

Richard said: “Grasping financial terms and concepts and identifying the key areas of emphasis is at the core of Colour Accounting which is proven to build confidence and teach people the essentials in a fun and memorable way.”

“This will result in a more informed and empowered team that understands key concepts and can contribute to the long-term sustainability of their organisations.”

Colour Accounting training is available exclusively in the Channel Islands through BDO Guernsey, get in touch with the team to find out more or visit our Financial Literacy page.
