BDO in Guernsey promotes four people
10 July 2020
Accountancy and advisory firm BDO in Guernsey has promoted four of its people across its different specialist industry sector teams.
Shelley Tostevin has been promoted to assistant manager after six years at the firm. She joined BDO in 2014 as a school leaver and qualified as an audit senior after studying for her ACCA exams, becoming part of BDO’s Private Wealth audit team and progressing through to supervisory and senior supervisory roles. Shelley’s promotion sees her assuming more responsibility with all aspects of the audit process. Outside of BDO Shelley is a water sports enthusiast and a keen showjumper, previously being part of the Guernsey showjumping team.
Tinotenda Munengwa, who qualified as a chartered accountant in 2017 and gained experience in South Africa before moving to BDO in Guernsey, is now an assistant manager in the funds and asset management team. Tino started his BDO career in the private wealth and fiduciary team before moving to funds and asset management.
Zak Damarell has been promoted to senior supervisor in the firm’s insurance industry sector team after training and qualifying with BDO since joining as a school-leaver in 2012. A dedicated sportsman, Zak has represented Guernsey in cricket and hockey.
Now an audit supervisor in the funds and asset management team, JD Ueckermann joined BDO after gaining experience in Qatar and South Africa where he also qualified as a chartered accountant in 2017.
Managing director Richard Searle said: “Offering wide learning experiences is fundamental to how we develop our people. Shelley, Tino, Zak and JD have each worked very hard and richly deserve their achievements and I’m really pleased to congratulate them on these important next steps in their careers. BDO is celebrating 120 years in Guernsey this year and it’s great to see the firm continuing its long and proud heritage of nurturing talent on the island."
